For students interested in exploring a hip, modern city filled with architectural marvels, a vibrant culture and an unstoppable nightlife, Barcelona is hard to beat. This program, open to all levels of Spanish proficiency, focuses on international business and economics in the context of all the city has to offer. Depending on the term, API-organized excursions may include visits to Montseny Park and the Dali Museum, trips to Bilbao & San Sebastian, Seville, Paris, Montserrat, and a tour of a local winery.

Students attend classes taught by professors from the the University Autonoma of Barcelona. Semester students are required to enroll in a Spanish language courses as well as two elective courses selected from a wide array of humanities and business topics, the majority of which which are taught in English. Upon completion of the semester, students receive approximately 12 credits. Additional electives may be taken for an extra fee. Summer program participants enroll in a Spanish language course and one elective, for total of six credits.

API program applications are accepted on a rolling admission basis. The deadline for the spring semester is October 15. The deadline for the fall semester and academic year is June 10. The deadline for the summer program is April 1. Late applications are accepted if there is still space available, and entail an additional $180 late fee added to the program fee.
Applicants may fill out an application online or download one, print it out, and submit it via regular mail. For an application to be processed, it must include an official transcript (sent directly by your university's registrar or included with your application, an academic letter of recommendation and a $150 deposit (in the form of a credit card, check or money order). The deposit will be refunded in the event that an applicant is not accepted to the program. Late applications are accepted if there is still space available, and entail an additional $180 late fee added to the program fee.

Tuition and fees for the summer: approximately $4,600
All program fees include tuition, meals, housing, transportation within Barcelona, overnight and day excursions and activities, academic and cultural support, cell phone usage by participants, medical and life insurance, wireless internet access at the API offices, and more.
