Study Abroad Program Profile

Study Abroad Program: AHA, Business, Human Rights and Humanities

Rosario, Argentina

Add to Trip

Located 200 miles upriver from Buenos Aires, Rosario is an alluring cosmopolitan city--the third largest in Argentina--and boasts a rich, European-influenced history. If you choose to attend for a semester or year, you'll study Spanish as well as courses in human rights, business, and/or the humanities. Summer session participants take an intensive language course alongside a course in human rights. Outside of the classroom, you'll have the opportunity to explore Rosario's museums, parks, theaters, pedestrian malls, caves, clubs, and vibrant waterfront. Students will also take part in AHA-organized excursions to sites throughout the city, as well as farther afield in Argentina, such as Buenos Aires, Patagonia, Iguazú Falls, or a local estancia (ranch).

  • Participants in AHA International's Rosario Program take courses with other AHA students at the AHA's Rosario Center, a beautiful historic building located in the heart of the city.

During the fall and spring semesters, students take a mandatory language course along with several electives chosen from a wide range of topics including business, politics, human rights, art and culture.

Business and human rights courses are taught in English. All other courses are taught in Spanish.

During the summer, students can enroll in one or two 5-week intensive language sessions (which also feature a human rights academic component) held in July and August. Students with little language experience who plan to enroll in the fall semester are especially encouraged to attend a summer session.

The number of credits each student earns is determined by their home university in consultation with AHA. The AHA Rosario program is sponsored by the Northwest Council on Study Abroad (NCSA) in cooperation with AHA International.
