The Scene
Monash has two main campuses in Melbourne, one in the suburb of Clayton and the other in Caulfield. Students can take courses at either campus, and a shuttle bus connects them. The Clayton campus is the largest, main campus and is 50 minutes by train from the Melbourne Central Business District. The Caulfield campus is 15 minutes by train from the Central Business District. The Clayton campus is a traditional selfcontained campus that features a wildlife preserve, cinema, sport facilities, eateries and the main halls of residence. The Caulfield campus is a modern campus that houses the Faculty of Art and Design. Monash University has the energy of a bustling large university with a cosmopolitan flavor.
University Facts
The Monash network of six campuses in Australia, one each in Malaysia and South Africa, and a center in Prato, Italy, brings an international perspective to learning and provide greater opportunities for collaboration in teaching and research.
Monash University is a member of Australia’s prestigious Group of Eight and is recognized for its excellence in teaching, research and scholarship.
In 2001, Monash established the first Australian University Green Office program for environmental sustainability. The program is one of the largest in Australia, with just under 200 staff members across all Australian campuses acting as Green Office representatives for their departments.

Study Australia has a rolling admissions process, which means you can apply before any of the stated deadlines. If you choose to submit an application using our Virtual Application Manager (VAM), you should be notified whether you have been accepted within one to two business days. If you submit an application via mail, you should be notified within one to two weeks.
Early application submission is advised to secure your place in the program and to increase your chances of obtaining your #1 university choice.
To apply to a Study Australia program, please follow the steps below. Our preference is that applications be submitted via our VAM.
• Step 1: Complete Study Australia Application. Submit your application using our Virtual Application Manager or, if necessary, the downloaded application form. Please review our catalog or Programs to determine your preferred location and university. Your selection can be modified, but please nominate at least one university on your application.
• Step 2: Submit $30 Application Fee.
Submit your application fee by credit card on-line through your VAM or you may submit a check or certified bank draft made payable to Study Australia.
• Step 3: Provide Official Academic Transcripts.
In addition to a transcript for our records, we will need an official transcript for each school to which you apply. If you have attended more than one university or college, you will need to provide transcripts from those previous institutions. Please request these copies be sent to Study Australia’s U.S. office at:
Study Australia, LLC
P.O. Box 1004
Notre Dame, IN 46556-1004
• Step 4: Submit Statement of Purpose.
This 300-500 word brief essay explaining why you would like to study abroad and why you have chosen Study Australia can be submitted online via the VAM.
• Step 5: Submit Academic Recommendation Form (if applicable)
A recommendation is required from an academic professor/faculty member if your current grade point average is below a 3.0/4.0 scale. Some host institutions require 1 – 2 academic recommendations regardless of your GPA. Study Australia will notify you if this is required. Freshmen and Community College students should complete two reference forms regardless of their current grade point average.
• Step 6: Upload a recent photograph with your application.
If applying through the VAM, this photo can be electronically attached to your record.
