This ISEP-exchange program is intended for students with an advanced level of French who wish to immerse themselves in French culture by studying alongside French students at the Université d'Angers and living in French student residence halls in the Loire Valley city of Angers, about 90 minutes by train from Paris.

  • Students enroll directly in University of Angers. Science, business, and language programs are particularly strong at this University. From early October until May, French language, literature and culture courses for foreign students are given at no extra cost.

  • Application Process: 
    Along with the application, students must submit 1. Particpant profile 2. Host Site Request List 3. Language Proficiency Report for each proposed language of instruction (if applicable) 4. Two Personal Statements of 250 words in English and each proposed language of study. 5. Two Academic Reference From completed by a university-level instructor or professor ( 5. A Course Request List for each site on your Host Site Request List 6. Official current transcripts from each college or university attended 7. An application fee of $315 for ISEP-Exchange and/or ISEP-Exchange with ISEP-Direct alternative, or $60 for ISEP-Direct only (note: applications for dual placements require additional fees). For fall semester or academic year programs beginning in July, August or September students should apply by February 1. For spring semester programs beginning in January, February or March students should apply by September 1. Students may still be admitted after these deadlines depending on availability. Students should verify the study abroad application deadlines of their home universities as these are often earlier.

    Students must be enrolled and in good academic standing at an ISEP member and have a minimum GPA of 2.75 and an advanced level of French.

  • Students pay their home tuition, room and board.
