The Year of Study in Munich program is administered by Lewis & Clark College in cooperation with Reed College and Willamette University. Students from any accredited U.S. university may apply.
While particularly attractive to German majors, the program is also open to students in other fields, provided that the language requirement is met.
The program begins with a five-week “pre- semester,” where you'll take intensive language courses designed to prepare you for coursework at the University of Munich. Students also receive a general orientation to Munich and its cultural and historical background.
This is followed by the “winter semester,” which runs mid-October to mid-February, and the “summer semester,” which runs from mid- April to mid-July.
Students have a variety of options for the two-month break between winter and summer semesters, including a study-travel program run through UNESCO, and a month-long program in Berlin.
All in all, you can expect to undertake dynamic academic studies, participate in an internship, travel through Germany and Europe, meet interesting people, and grow academically as well as personally.
